Details of Cosmetology Program -
The basic cosmetology program involves training in design, cutting, coloring, multicultural techniques, makeup, fashion trends and the art of hairdressing in a three-stage program which is called CORE, ADAPTIVE, and CREATIVE.
Explaining the three-stage program -
CORE – Learn the rules! In this introductory course, the basics are taught that will let you confidently begin working on guests and your teachers will help you combine professional skills with personal development.
ADAPTIVE – Apply the rules that you learn! This mid level learning session teaches the value of time management, retailing and the art of successful interaction.
CREATIVE – Expand the rules! This last stage takes you through modern hairdressing and chemical work. During your last months and weeks toward graduation, you have all the time to get geared for a salon career.
Schedules and duration of the course -
Full-time day schedule: Tuesday-Friday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Saturday 8:00am-4:00pm,
The duration is 40 hours per week for a total of 60 weeks.
Evening schedule: Monday-Thursday: 5:00pm – 10:00pm, This involves 20 hours per week for a total of 120 weeks.
Is there a dress code?
Yes very much! Statistics reveal that whosoever studies in the beauty industry, if dresses professionally earn an average of 5-10% more than the ones who dress normally. Giving the look of a future professional, Scot Lewis Schools' dress code is solid black bottoms and solid black or white tops. The student kit contains a shirt that meets the dress code re4quirements.
